WHAT DO WE DO? Choose an event from the many options listed on the TSA website and work individually or alone to complete the project. Many teams will be able to attend the fall leadership conference and the spring state competition.
At the end of the year, students will also have the chance to run for a 2018/19 office.
The Whatcom TSA chapter began just last year. We had 12 regular attendees and were involved with many events. Here are some of the highlights:
There are many benefits to being a part of the Whatcom TSA. Students enhance their leadership and STEM skills by taking part in real-world activities and competitions. They can say that they have been a part of a respected national organization.
Students get to choose the event(s) that interests them the most and take responsibility for their own learning. The advisor is simply that, an advisor. TSA members learn that in order to succeed they must hold themselves and their teammates accountable.
And, or course, a wonderful benefit is the opportunity to spend time with peers in a new environment doing something they enjoy!
